In contrast, the non-manufacturing index remained above 55. Not since the start of 2009 has such a wide gap been seen, the difference being that the services PMI stood at just 45 at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Weak manufacturing is a eurozone affair and has pulled the region\u2019s composite PMI down from 52.2 to 51.5, a level in line with economic growth of about 1.0%.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lazardfreresgestion-tribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2019\/07\/29072019-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11139\" src=\"https:\/\/lazardfreresgestion-tribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2019\/07\/29072019-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1201\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/29072019-2.png 1201w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/29072019-2-300x167.png 300w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/29072019-2-768x427.png 768w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/29072019-2-1024x569.png 1024w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/29072019-2-600x333.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1201px) 100vw, 1201px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><b>OUR<\/b> <b>ANALYSIS<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>The divergence between manufacturing and services is specific to Germany and not always the case. It can be explained by the strong cyclical nature of German manufacturing, which itself stems from high international exposure. The commentary published alongside the PMI index reading focuses on the autos sector where concerns are mounting over international, especially Chinese, demand levels and the structural changes imposed by the car of the future.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, resilience in the services sector is good news.
