Business data are pointing towards healthy consumption levels. Retail sales excluding car sales continue to trend higher and registrations are returning to normal following disruption caused by the new anti-pollution standards (WLTP).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/14102019-8.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12082\" src=\"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/14102019-8.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"629\" height=\"361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/14102019-8.png 629w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/14102019-8-300x172.png 300w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/14102019-8-600x344.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 629px) 100vw, 629px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In Germany, the manufacturing sector is in recession, but industrial orders excluding volatile components are now rising slightly, following steep falls in the last 18 months, opening the door to stabilisation. For the moment, the downturn in manufacturing activity has not had a major impact on employment. That said, the Democratic Party\u2013Five Star coalition could prove unstable, putting the main opposition party, The League, in a stronger position for the next elections.
