Of the outstanding amount, 70% is concentrated in three countries, namely Italy, Spain and Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>Over the same period, defaults on loans under moratoria, irrespective of expiry date, rose slightly from \u20ac23\u00a0billion in June 2020 to \u20ac39\u00a0billion in June 2021.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-17322\" src=\"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-15-300x229.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1199\" height=\"915\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-15-300x229.png 300w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-15-768x587.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1199px) 100vw, 1199px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><b>OUR ANALYSIS<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>During the Covid-19 pandemic, loans under moratoria were the main concern in terms of banks&#8217; asset quality. Clients who were able to benefit from them were considered as being the riskiest. However, the rapid fall in outstanding amounts and low number of defaults is reassuring.
