{"id":17957,"date":"2022-03-07T17:35:51","date_gmt":"2022-03-07T16:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lazardfreresgestion-tribune.fr\/?p=17957"},"modified":"2022-03-07T17:35:51","modified_gmt":"2022-03-07T16:35:51","slug":"eurozone-inflation-still-accelerating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/en\/eurozone-inflation-still-accelerating\/","title":{"rendered":"Eurozone: inflation still accelerating"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Chart of the week<\/h2>\n<p>The Russia-Ukraine conflict has led to a sharp rise in oil and gas prices, which will further accentuate the rise in consumer prices, even though inflation is already very high in the Eurozone.<\/p>\n<p>Energy prices already account for a large part of this phenomenon in the Eurozone, as shown by the difference between headline inflation, which reached +5.8% at the end of February, and inflation excluding food and energy, which stands at +2.7%. However, underlying inflation is also clearly accelerating, as shown below by the three-month change in prices excluding food and energy, which rose by nearly 4% over one year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17958\" src=\"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Capture-1-1-300x164.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1140\" height=\"623\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Capture-1-1-300x164.png 300w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Capture-1-1-1024x561.png 1024w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Capture-1-1-768x421.png 768w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Capture-1-1-1536x841.png 1536w, https:\/\/latribune.lazardfreresgestion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Capture-1-1.png 1908w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1140px) 100vw, 1140px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><b>OUR ANALYSIS<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>This graph shows a real acceleration in prices since the middle of 2021, and this phenomenon cannot be attributed to base effects linked to the return to normal of the German VAT (December 31, 2020).<\/p>\n<p>Business surveys on price trends in the Eurozone remain at historically high levels, particularly for the retail sector.
