Our analysis

Figures for car registrations have confirmed the ongoing upturn in Eurozone household spending. In January, registrations were up 10.7% year-on-year and 1.4% as compared to December.

The strongest improvements came from the southern European economies where the recovery, which began in early 2013 following record lows, is gathering pace. Figures are also positive in the rest of the Eurozone, but are more modest.
