Lazard Frères Gestion is committed to the protection and the appreciation of cultural, historical and artistic heritage by launching its Foundation today.
Since 2007, Lazard Frères Gestion has been committed to the protection of cultural and artistic heritage by supporting various restoration projects including Le Christ au jardin des Oliviers by Eugène Delacroix and the support of artists.
Today, Lazard Frères Gestion wishes to set up a dedicated structure that brings together and coordinates its patronage actions and ensures their sustainability.
Hosted at the Institut de France, the purpose of the Lazard Frères Gestion Foundation is to promote tangible heritage through the restoration and showcasing of works, as well as to protect intangible heritage through education and research.

In 1710, Pierre Dulin was made responsible for a tapestry cartoon representing the foundation of the Invalides. This commission showed Louis XIV’s commitment towards this charitable institution which he saw as “the greatest idea of his reign”.
Greeted by the Trumpet of Fame, the Marquis de Louvois, Minister of War, presents to the King and to the Dauphin a plan supported by the allegorical figures of Minerva and Architecture while a Winged Victory guides a group of invalid soldiers.
To commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Invalides, this masterpiece will undergo fundamental restoration, thanks to the generous support of Lazard Frères Gestion-Institut de France Foundation and the Sauvegarde de l’Art Français (Foundation for the Safeguarding of French Art). This restoration is taking place before the eyes of visitors in the Saint-Jérôme chapel, located in the Dôme des Invalides, close to Napoleon’s tomb.

Two other projects that will associate education and heritage with the Inp (Institut National du Patrimoine) and the CNSM (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Dance de Paris) will be carried out during the year 2020-2021.
